DECA's Interview Night!!
by Sable Campa
On Monday, February 8th, the Central City High School cafeteria was filled with numerous business representatives and students. Central City’s DECA Chapter held their annual, “DECA Interview Night,” where participants wore business attire and treated the evening as a genuine job interview. This event is beneficial to its members because of the quality experience and information it provides. As Amber Erickson, our chapter President, stated, “I thought it was a really good experience, and it has made me more confident for when I go to interviews in the future.” Every member will agree with that statement, thanks to the feedback received from the generous business representatives that volunteered their time to help with the event. David Dickinson of Bankers Compliance Consulting was one of the many volunteers; “I was very impressed with the students during the mock interview. They were well prepared and conducted themselves professionally. During the general outbrief following the interviews, the students were attentive to the advice given by the interviewers as well. I personally would have benefited greatly from this when I was in High School. It was a pleasure to be involved in the DECA Interview Night. I strongly believe the development of the students will be of great value to CCHS and the Central City Community.” DECA Interview Night is one of the many events our chapter puts on that prepares its members for the world and their life ahead of them.
