The ladies enjoyed stopping at Cabela's on the way to Scottsbluff

On November 2, 2015, four of Central City's DECA members attended Districts in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. Katelyn Becker, Oriana White Bull, Kenzie Nordlund, and Kiley Bamesberger left the day before to go to Scottsbluff, and then got up early that morning ready to compete. During the eight hour journey to their destination, the quartet prepared for competition as well as created new fellowships with the Hastings DECA members. Despite this being her first competition, Katelyn Becker was excited for the new experience. "It was a really cool atmosphere," stated Becker. Katelyn competed in accounting, and ended up winning the title of first place for her event’s role play and second place overall in her event. Oriana White Bull said, "It was very informational and educational." This was not her first competition, but it was her first time placing.  She received second place on her role play and second place overall in her event. White Bull competed in restaurant and food service management, and her favorite part was competing in an environment she was familiar with. Kenzie Nordlund said, "Districts was fun and I can't wait for state." Nordlund enjoyed competing, as well as the hotel and getting to spend quality time with the other DECA members. Kiley Bamesberger competed in accounting and said her experience was even better than before due to having more experience with competition. Overall, the quad's experience was influential, and they all look forward to competing at the State competition, with aspirations of DECA Nationals in Tennessee.
