Boone Central and UNK results!!

CCXC determination glowed on Friday at Boone Central.  13 athletes set new course PR's shaving 13:13 off former records (yes there is a theme here) .  Ella Bulke finished 6th overall in a field of 77 girls but brought home the silver medal for sophomores.  Shane Stahn edged out Grant Hanke at the finish line to lead varsity boys this week.  His efforts earned him the 5th place medal for seniors. Varsity boys continue to push each other during practice and race day.  Shane and Grant, Tate and Brandon, then Kane and Max really battled it out today and that just makes the team stronger. I was especially pleased with the 6 athletes who posted negative splits.  We work on that on repeat days and Grant, Shane, Kane , Max, Toli and Ella did it today.

UNK proved to be very demanding for us on Monday. We weren't focused during warm-up and the hills, heat, and wind took their toll.  We really busted it on Friday and that also contributed.  We plain looked gassed. Ella was not pleased with her 2 mile time and really brought her game the third mile.  She ran with determination placing 17th in a field of 171 girls and breaking her course PR.  Tate was our only other athlete to break a PR today as he and the rest of the team competed against 331 Class C boys!
